About Brad
Brad Reid plays modern, original fiddle music, rooted in the style of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Freely exploring all that is possible within the Celtic genre with expression and a sound of his own, his music fuses spontaneity with innovation and tradition, reaching audiences from small pub sessions to large concert halls.
In the Brad Reid Quartet, he is joined on stage by long time member of the Barra MacNeils, double bassist Jamie Gatti; and on percussion by former drummer for both the Barra MacNeils and Natalie MacMaster, Tom Roach; and by guitartist James MacLean, who recently released his self-titled album of Cape Breton music.

more about Brad...
Brad began playing the fiddle after seeing a concert of the Cape Breton Fiddler's Association at The Gaelic College in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. He learned along side his grandfather (who grew up in the small town of Cheticamp, Cape Breton), and at family gatherings, where his grandparents entertained on fiddle and piano.

Brad also has a background in jazz saxophone and works as a woodwind player in musical theatre, doubling on flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, recorder, bagpipes, and more.

Baroque 'N' Fiddle
String Quartet
The Baroque 'N' Fiddle String Quartet is traditional fiddle music in a classic string quartet.
The ensemble features original arrangements of traditional Celtic violin music, largely from the Scottish Cape Breton
repertoire, with nods to other influences as well.

These days if you see a performance by the quartet, you're most likely to see fiddlin' friends Anthony Rissesco and Carrie Van Slyke chopping away on violin and viola respectively, and founding member Catherine Little on cello.
