A Glimpse Into the Recording Studio

I recorded my album with just fiddle and piano, and then added the bass last. In this case, in worked great, because each of the three piano players on the album - Troy MacGillivray, Kim Dunn, and Jennifer King - brought something different to the tracks, and I could a write a bass part that supported the fiddle and piano. It was a lot of fun! And Jamie Gatti did an incredible job of bringing the bass parts to life at Graeme Campbell's studio in the North End of Halifax. The album is now in the final stages of post-production with Alex Burris, and will be released May 12!
